Coaching
The same principles that make complex operations succeed.
I work where strategy meets people. After more than ten years leading teams through one of the world's most demanding industrial environments, I have learned that what makes an operation succeed is what builds strong schools, winning teams, resilient cultures, and steady leaders.

Schools and youth leaders
Building leaders before they know they are leaders.
Multi-year work with school leadership teams, head students, and emerging young leaders. The aim is not to teach leadership theory, but to give young people the tools to decide well, hold a standard, and carry a team when it counts.
- Leadership team development across a school year
- Head student and prefect programmes
- Mental toughness for matric and high-pressure years
- One-on-one work with a teenager who is struggling, built on relationship rather than a single meeting
What a school engagement looks like
An initial conversation with the principal or head of leadership, a short diagnostic session with the student leaders, then a programme shaped around the school's calendar. Sessions are practical and interactive. Leaders leave with something to try that week.
Chairman of the Young Engineers Forum. Multi-year track record with high school leadership programmes.
What a sports engagement looks like
For squads: alignment and culture sessions with coaches and players together, focused on how the team behaves when a game turns. For individual athletes: a coaching relationship through a season or a build-up to a major event, working on the mental game as deliberately as the physical one.
Survivor SA finalist-stage competitor. Cape Epic finisher. Adventure Race World Championship competitor. Drakensberg Grand Traverse and 100 km ultra-trail runner.
Sports teams and athletes
Team coherence for squads. Mental toughness for the individual.
Pressure exposes what a team is actually made of. I work with coaches and players on the mental side of performance: how a squad holds together when the score turns, and how an athlete stays clear when the body wants to stop.
- Team coherence and culture for squads
- Mental toughness coaching for individual athletes
- Preparation for competition and endurance events
- Post-season and pre-season resets
Business teams
Vision, alignment, and a culture that holds.
Most business teams do not lack effort. They lack a shared picture of where they are going and an honest account of what is in the way. I bring the same discipline I use on the plant: clarity on constraints, explicit expectations, and decision pathways everyone can see.
- Corporate vision casting for leadership teams
- Team alignment sessions
- Culture building over a quarter or a year
- Leadership development for managers stepping up
What a business engagement looks like
A virtual meeting with the leaders first, to understand the team's culture, struggles, and history. Then a workshop or series of sessions built around that reality, not a generic slide deck. The leaders leave with tools they can keep using after I have left the room.
Production Area Manager at Sasol. R80 million revenue uplift in four months. R18 million and R13 million in sustained annual savings.
What one-on-one coaching looks like
A relationship over months, not a single appointment. We start with where you are and what is getting in the way. We work on decisions, habits, and the mental game. You do the work between sessions. I hold the standard.
Accredited life and business coach since 2021.
Individuals
For leaders and high performers who want to be steadier under pressure.
Individual coaching for people who carry responsibility: managers, founders, athletes, students in a decisive year. The focus is mental toughness and decision-making, and the aim is a person who thinks clearly when it matters most.
- Performance and mental toughness coaching
- Decision-making under pressure
- Breaking engraved habits
- Support through a defining season, project, or transition
Workshops
Packaged sessions, tailored to the room.
Vision Casting
A clear, compelling vision that aligns teams and drives long-term success.
Team Alignment
Every member working toward the same objectives, with less friction and more trust.
Culture Building
A purpose-driven culture that promotes engagement, productivity, and staying power.
Mental Toughness
Staying clear and composed when conditions turn. For teams and individuals.
How I prepare
I practise what I coach.
Before any high-stakes conversation, I map it. Where I am strong, what I want to create, what the results will mean. This is one of my own preparation notes. It is the same kind of self-knowledge work I do with clients, starting with myself.
